Fellows work with Drs. David Leffers and Charles Nofsinger of the USF College of Medicine Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. Dr. Leffers and Nofsinger specialize in sports medicine.
Ortho - Joints & Sports Medicine 3
Fellows work with Dr. Allen Hughes of Orthopaedic Specialties of Tampa Bay. Dr Hughes specializes in joint replacement and sports medicine.
Ortho - Spine Surgery
Fellows work with Dr. Byron Davidson of Orthopaedic Specialties of Tampa Bay and/or Dr. Andrew Messer of Orthopedic Associates of West Florida. Drs. Davidson and Messer specialize in spine surgery.
Ortho - Foot and Ankle Surgery
Fellows work with Drs. Richard Abdo of Orthopaedic Specialties of Tampa Bay and/or Dr. Thomas Odmark of Orthopaedic Associates of West Florida. Drs. Abdo and Odmark specialize in foot and ankle surgery.
Ortho - Elbow and Hand Surgery
Fellows work with Dr. Anthony Marcotte of Orthopaedic Specialties of Tampa Bay and/or Dr. Scott Wisotsky and Dr. Michael Rothberg of Orthopaedic associates of West Florida. Dr. Marcotte, Dr. Wisotsky, and Dr. Rothberg specialize in elbow and hand surgery.
Fellows work with Drs. Scott Beck, Gregory Hahn, and Jeffrey Neustadt of Children's Orthopaedic and Scoliosis Surgery Associates. Drs. Beck, Hahn, and Neustadt specialize in pediatric orthopedic surgery.
Sports Medicine - Physical Therapy 1
Fellows work with Morton Plant Mease physical therapists and athletic trainers at the Barrett Outpatient Rehabilitation Center in the Ptak Orthopaedic and Neuroscience Pavilion.
Sports Medicine - Physical Therapy 2
Fellows work with physical therapy faculty at the USF Physical Therapy Center.
Cardiology, Pulmonology, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, and Performance Testing and Nutrition
Fellows work with Dr. Mahesh Amin performing cardiac evaluations and stress testing. Fellows may have the opportunity to work with the pulmonologists of Bay Area Chest Physicians evaluating patients with advanced pulmonary testing including VO2 max determination. Finally fellows may have the opportunity to work with Markus Kilpatrick, PhD and Bill Campbell, PhD at the USF School of Physical Education and Exercise Science.
Advanced Musculoskeletal Imaging
Fellows receive lectures from and work with fellowship trained musculoskeletal radiologists. Time is also spent on education and hands on training in musculoskeletal ultrasound by the primary faculty.
Fellows have one four-week block of elective during the academic year which can be an away rotation. These self-directed elective rotations are in the sports medicine field of the fellow’s choosing.
Fellows have one four-week block devoted to working on a faculty approved scholarly activity of their choice.
