Upon completing his medical education and residency, he opened a rural family practice in Fishers, IN. Soon afterward, Dr. Hutter joined the faculty at the St. Vincent's Family Medicine Residency in Indianapolis, first as an Associate Director, and then as Program Director. After seven years at St. Vincent's, he accepted a position as Medical Director for Cleveland Clinic Florida in Naples.

In 1999, he joined the USF-MPM Family Medicine Residency and became the Medical Director of the Turley Family Health Center. In May 2007, he accepted the position as Interim Program Director during a nationwide search for a permanent Program Director. Dr. Hutter has special interests in child and adolescent
medicine, community health, preventive strategies and resident and student counseling. His personal philosophy is reflected in his commitment to care for young Hispanic and inner city families, and in his passion and dedication to help residents and students be successful. He enjoys European history and literature, travel and animal welfare.
