Morton Plant Mease Offers Free Skin Cancer Screenings for Melanoma Monday|
Clearwater, FL. (April 13, 2011) -- Morton Plant Mease physicians and other health care practitioners will be conducting free skin cancer screenings in support of the 15th Annual Morton Plant Mease Melanoma Monday, a nationwide campaign to raise awareness and encourage early detection of skin cancers. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States with more than one million cases diagnosed annually.
The screenings will take place on May 2, 2011, from 8 a.m to 12 p.m. at the following locations:

Melanoma is the most-life threatening form of skin cancer. The American Cancer Society estimates about 120,000 new cases of melanoma are diagnosed in the U.S. every year. Florida residents are particularly at risk due to year round exposure to UV rays.
