Patients Breathe Benefits of Morton Plant Hospital's Pulmonary Programs
CLEARWATER, Fla., (October 18, 2004) - In recognition of National Lung Health Day, Morton Plant Hospital will provide free breathing tests and pulmonary disease information to the public on Wednesday, October 27, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Barrett Center, 430 Pinellas Street.
Information will also be provided on the comprehensive respiratory services offered at Morton Plant Hospital including multidisciplinary pulmonary rehabilitation, asthma management for adults and children, the American Lung Association's Better Breathers Support Group, a lung transplant patient support group and Freedom from Smoking, the American Lung Association's smoking cessation program.
"Morton Plant is the only hospital in Pinellas or Hillsborough County to offer all these programs through hospital-based respiratory care services," said Dilshad Merchant, manager of respiratory services at Morton Plant Hospital. "We want to make it as easy as possible for the community to access comprehensive care by providing prevention, intervention and treatment options at one location."
