Morton Plant Hospital Wins Water-Wise Award
CLEARWATER, Fla. (January 16, 2002)---Morton Plant Hospital was recently selected as the overall winner in the third annual Florida Yards & Neighborhoods (FY&N) Community Water-Wise Awards Commercial Category. The award was accepted by Ron Harn, director of facilities management, at the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners monthly meeting.
FY&N program is a grant-funded partnership involving Tampa Bay Water and Pinellas County Government. The FY&N program is designed to assist and guide county residents in conserving water in the landscape and in making positive changes in the environmental quality of their yards, neighborhoods and surrounding waterways.
Homeowners, builders, schools, and multi-family, governmental and commercial properties can win the water-wise award for creating attractive, water-efficient landscapes. Morton Plant Hospital planted drought-tolerant, native flora to its various locations, retained rainfall and only used grass where needed.
