Morton Plant Hospital's Turley Family Health Center Appoints New Administrative Director

CLEARWATER, Fla. (April 15, 2003)---Morton Plant Hospital's Turley Family Health Center and Family Practice Residency Program recently appointed Larry Bryant, CPA as its new administrative director, responsible for the operations and financial management of the center and program. He also assists in strategic management activities and development and planning of new service offerings for the center.

Before joining Morton Plant Hospital, Bryant was the business manager for Bayfront Medical Family Health Center and its residency program in St. Petersburg, Fla., where he was actively involved in operations and business management. Bryant received his bachelor of arts degree in accounting from the University of South Florida College of Business. In addition, he has over 10 years of experience in public accounting.

Built in 1999, Turley Family Health Center is a state-of-the-art facility that provides comprehensive health care with an emphasis on prevention primarily for the North Greenwood community. Turley Family Health Center provides health care to infants, children and adults who might otherwise not receive health care. Some of the services that the center offers include: cardiovascular assessments, physicals, basic laboratory screening and phlebotomy services. Morton Plant also offers a family practice residency program at Turley Family Health Center in conjunction with the University of South Florida.

Established in 1916, Morton Plant Hospital is a 687-bed facility dedicated to improving the health of all it serves through community-owned health services that set the standard for high quality, compassionate care.

In 2002 Morton Plant was named one of America's Top 50 Hospitals, according to AARP Modern Maturity magazine and a 100 Top Hospital in the "Solucient 100 Top Hospitals: Cardiovascular Benchmarks for Success" study for the fourth consecutive year. In addition, Morton Plant Hospital is in the "large community hospital" category of Solucient's Top 100 overall list for the fourth time.

In 2001, Morton Plant Hospital joined forces with H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute at the University of South Florida, Tampa to provide research and services for cancer patients. Morton Plant Hospital is located at 300 Pinellas Street, Clearwater, Fla., 727-462-7000.
