Morton Plant Mease Physicians Recognized For Excellence|
CLEARWATER, Fla., (Aug. 19, 2011) – Recognizing physicians for supporting the health system’s goal of high-quality health care, the Morton Plant Mease Foundation recently presented its 2011 Excellence in Medicine Award to four deserving physicians at the WOW (Wilks Outstanding Winners) Awards.
These physicians were judged to exemplify excellence in clinical practice, leadership and outstanding service to the hospitals and community. Each recipient will also be recognized on the Excellence in Medicine recognition walls at their respective hospitals.

This year, the Mease Hospitals award was named the “Dr. Bernard A. Macik, Jr. excellence in Medicine Award” in honor of Dr. Macik, a 2010 winner and former VP of Medical Affairs, who passed away last year.
Nominations are made by members of the Morton Plant Mease Foundation board, Morton Plant Mease Health Care board and the medical executive committees of Morton Plant Hospital, Morton Plant North Bay and Mease Hospitals.
Selections are made by the Morton Plant Mease Foundation board, Morton Plant Mease Health Care board and the chief medical officer.
