Lou Galdieri Selected Chief Operating Officer
CLEARWATER, Fla., (March 19, 2009)--Morton Plant Mease Health Care has selected a familiar face for a key role on its senior management team, with Lou Galdieri being named as chief operating officer for Mease Countryside Hospital and Mease Dunedin Hospital. As chief operating officer of Mease Dunedin Hospital, Galdieri has been serving as interim chief operating officer of Mease Countryside Hospital for the past eight months.

“I am confident that Lou possesses the knowledge, skills and ability to lead both Mease Dunedin and Mease Countryside hospitals as we continue to work to improve the health of the community we serve,” said Glenn Waters, president of Morton Plant Mease Health Care. “He has earned the respect of our medical staff, community-based board of directors, volunteers and team members.”

Galdieri has extensive experience in health care administration gained from leading several clinical departments at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. He joined Morton Plant Mease in 2000 and served as assistant administrator for both Mease Dunedin and Mease Countryside hospitals prior to being named chief operating officer for Mease Dunedin in 2006.

As chief operating officer for Mease Dunedin and Mease Countryside hospitals, Galdieri is responsible for operations and establishing objectives to align with the health system’s strategic planning.

Galdieri began his career as a nurse more than 20 years ago. He holds a master’s of science degree in health administration from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, bachelor’s of science degree in nursing from LaSalle University, Philadelphia and a nursing diploma from the Community Medical Center School of Nursing in Scranton, Penn.

In addition, Galdieri is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is chairman of the board of directors for the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce.
