New Construction, Expansion of Morton Plant North Bay Hospital Underway|
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla., (June 17, 2008) - A brand new Morton Plant North Bay Hospital is beginning to take shape. The $49 million new construction and expansion plan that will nearly double the size of the hospital campus is well underway. Phase one site work included the completion of a new parking lot earlier this month that’s located north of the hospital off of Forest Avenue. Construction of a three-story medical office building featuring physician offices, an expanded sleep disorders unit, laboratory services and outpatient rehabilitation services is anticipated to begin on June 30.
In addition to the medical office building, the new construction and expansion project includes:
A new three-story patient wing offering additional private patient beds, a new intensive care unit, cardiac unit, medical surgical unit, new respiratory care services and community education facilities
- New walk-in clinic
- Expansion of the Mitchell Rehabilitation Hospital
- Renovations to the emergency room with improved efficiencies for patients and physicians
- Storm water retention area
The project creates a comprehensive, community-based medical complex that will allow Morton Plant North Bay to grow and change with the New Port Richey and West Pasco communities. Construction is anticipated to be complete by the end of 2010. The architect for the project is Harvard Jolly, Inc., Tampa, Florida. The contractor is Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC of Orlando, Florida. The developer of the medical office building is Lauth Property Group also based in Orlando.
