Morton Plant Mease Names Director of Nursing for Maternal/Child Services

CLEARWATER, Fla., (August 22, 2006) - Morton Plant Mease Health Care is announcing the appointment of Margaret Primeau, R.N., M.S.N, M.B.A., to the position of Director of Nursing for Maternal/Child Services. Primeau will oversee the operational responsibilities for the women’s and children’s services programs at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater and Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor.

“Women and their families expect the very best medical care we can provide every day,” said Lisa W. Johnson, M.S., R.N., C.N.A.A., vice president of patient services for Morton Plant Mease Health Care. “She will lead the day-to-day operations of women’s and children’s services ensuring we continue to provide the kind of compassionate, quality care that exceeds patient expectations.”

The appointment of Maggie Primeau also affords Morton Plant Mease new opportunities to look to the future and broaden health services. Marcia Albanese, director of women’s and children’s services for Morton Plant Hospital, will now oversee strategic planning for Morton Plant and Mease Countryside.

Primeau received her master of science in nursing degree from the University of Massachusetts. Prior to her position with Morton Plant Mease, Maggie was the Director for Maternal/Child Health Services and Perioperative Services for the University Mass Memorial HealthAlliance in Leominster, Massachusetts. Among her many accomplishments at UMass Memorial HealthAlliance, providing leadership for the planning of a refurbished birthing center unit and the implementation of an updated fetal monitoring system that will eventually allow for the storing and sharing of information electronically without the use of paper.
