Morton Plant Mease Health Care Staying Connected With Free High Speed Internet Service
05/31/2006

CLEARWATER, Fla., (May 31, 2006) -Today's technology allows you to stay connected to the Internet from home, in the car, on an airplane and now at any Morton Plant Mease hospital. Morton Plant Mease Health Care recently installed high-speed wireless Internet access, also commonly known as Wi-Fi.

"The Wi-Fi service reflects our continued commitment to meet the needs of our patients and their families," said Philip K. Beauchamp, FACHE, president and chief executive officer, Morton Plant Mease Health Care. "This is a convenient way for visitors to our hospitals to stay in touch with family members or for business purposes at all times via e-mails or Internet."

All four hospital campuses, Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, Mease Dunedin Hospital and Morton Plant North Bay Hospital in New Port Richey, are now set up as "hot spots" for free wireless access. As a result, physicians, patients and their visitors can go online if they have a wireless device (such as a PDA) or laptop computer equipped with a wireless card. Each "hot spot" is located within the main hospital building at each campus.

In addition to Morton Plant Mease Health Care, St. Anthony's Health Care in St. Petersburg and other hospitals in the BayCare Health System are now equipped with high-speed wireless access.
