Things To Do in Tampa Bay

No matter what you enjoy doing, the Tampa Bay area offers a full menu of recreational and cultural activities to keep you entertained: cultural venues, professional sports action, fine dining and shopping, and theme parks and attractions.

Sports: The area is packed with opportunities for the sports enthusiast on every level: professional, semi-professional, college and recreational. Our professional teams include the 2003 Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the 2004 Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning. The Tampa Bay area is also home to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and spring training camps for the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays.

Outdoors: There’s always something to do in the glorious Florida sunshine. Leisure sports such as fishing, motor boating, kayaking, canoeing, water skiing, hiking and golfing are available year-round. From January to December, joggers, bicyclists, walkers, and in-line skaters enjoy the 34-mile Pinellas Trail — or any of the trails and paths available in the county and state parks throughout the area.

Culture: The Tampa Bay area is a haven for culture and art lovers boasting a wide variety of performing arts centers, museums and theaters. Enjoy a Broadway show, or take advantage of resident and traveling art and history exhibits of international caliber.

Attractions: It’s Florida, there are more theme parks and attractions than anywhere else in the country. Locally, the area features Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, and aquariums and wildlife parks. Walt Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios are all within easy driving distance. Festivals and fairs throughout the year such as the Florida State Fair, the Strawberry Festival, and the Renaissance Festival are area favorites.
